Description:  Under general supervision, utilizes a variety of types of information and accepted appraisal methods in order to estimate a fair market value of residential and agricultural property in Fairfield County for the purpose of ad valorem taxation.  Performs a variety of other related duties such as updating property cards and records, processing & issuing mobile home moving  permits. Identifies, locates, and verifies residential and commercial real property in assigned area of Fairfield County; makes field trips to verify and measure property as required.  Records into computer information gathered. Also will be trained in GIS Computer Application.  Reports to the County Assessor or designee. 

Requirements:  A minimum of 21 college semester hours or an associate degree from a two-year college and/or technical school in Computer assisted Drawing or Civil Engineering; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.  Must possess a South Carolina Real Estate Appraiser License or be able to obtain a Mass Appraiser License within 24 months from date of hire.  Must possess a valid South Carolina driver’s license.
