                                                 GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
 
Under general supervision, is responsible for performing a variety of clerical and related tasks in support of the Magistrate's Office including receiving and receipting payments, preparing monthly reports, preparing and maintaining records and other materials, etc.; maintains accuracy and professionalism. Reports to the Court Administrator.
 


 
 
 
                                      SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
 
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
 
Performs various clerical duties in support of the Magistrate's office such as typing warrants, civil papers, miscellaneous reports, letters of correspondence, etc. Files items appropriately.


 
Performs a variety of duties relative to jurors including running list of jurors, taking information from jurors, calling jurors, striking the jury, etc.
 
Performs other miscellaneous duties such as mailing summonses, contacting attorneys, scheduling preliminary hearings, providing information to the public, etc.
 
Receives money for traffic tickets and prepares receipts, receives mail and writes necessary receipts, maintains required records of monies received from traffic court. Enters data into the computer.
 
Answers incoming calls performing various related duties such as providing guidance and assistance, routing calls to appropriate personnel, taking messages, etc. 
 
Communicates and interacts with a variety of peoples such as immediate supervisor, lawyers, judges, general public, and other County employees.
 
Operates a variety of types of office equipment including computer, typewriter, copier, fax machine, etc.

Performs other related duties as required.
 
 
 
 
                                        MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
 
High school diploma with one to two years of office experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
