Fairfield County Land Management Ordinance Update
Fairfield County is in the process of updating the Land Management Ordinance. The Land Management Ordinance outlines the requirements for development.
The Land Management Ordinance has not been updated since around 2012. The ordinance will be updated to incorporate best practices, maintain compliance with state and federal requirements, and simplify elements of the ordinance to create a user-friendly document. Fairfield County recently updated the Comprehensive Plan. This process provides an opportunity to update the Land Management Ordinance to implement priority goals and action items.
The update will occur in three phases and take approximately eight months. Stakeholder interviews, two public information sessions and a public review and comment period will provide opportunities for citizens to provide input on the process.
