New Community Development Director
Fairfield County would like to introduce Joseph Toledo; Joseph is the new Community Development Director for Fairfield County.

College:
Barry University, Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) in Finance and Management
Clemson University, Master of Real Estate Development (MRED)
Graduate of Leadership Columbia
Previous Experience:
Extensive background in real estate development and construction. Prior to moving to South Carolina, I was involved in large-scale commercial development throughout Florida and have since proposed and underwritten over $100 million dollars of commercial development throughout the Palmetto State. I've also collaborated with multiple counties throughout the Midlands and Lowcountry on public-private partnerships to foster smart growth and developments that serve the public interest.
What do you want to bring to Fairfield County personally?:
I'm looking forward to bringing a pragmatic approach when implementing Zoning and Land Use policies. My development background has exposed me to various counties throughout the state and their required processes. I plan to leverage that experience to determine what could be implemented in the county to simplify and expedite our permitting process.
What are your initial impressions of Community Development in Fairfield County in your short time here?:
Untapped opportunity. Fairfield County is well-positioned to benefit from the path of growth occurring along the I-77 corridor. The arrival of Scout Motors to the Midlands will require additional housing and industrial stock which the county can benefit from. With enough growth, it would be exciting to see many of the beautiful historic structures in the county undergo renovations to bring new opportunities to the area.
Something interesting about yourself that you want the public to know?:
I've traveled to 25+ countries and enjoy experiencing new cultures. I'm also an avid outdoorsman and enjoy hiking ,hunting, camping, and off-roading.
Your vision for the future of Fairfield County?
I've received a warm welcome from everyone and am very excited to be joining the county during this time of change. I look forward to serving the residents of Fairfield County and implementing changes to promote and attract smart-growth to the county.
