Congratulations Latasha Wadlington!

Latasha Wadlington B.A, Program Coordinator for the Fairfield County Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) office, received a Certificate of Completion for Facilitating Career Development Training. The Facilitating Career Development Training Course is administered by the National Career Development Association (NCDA). 
The NCDA provides individuals with relevant skills and knowledge to advocate for practitioners and educators, assist individuals in planning careers and life goals. Training courses consist of virtual and in-person classes over a 3 month time frame. Participants are required to have a Bachelor’s Degree to take the training.
Wadlington went through the training with a cohort made up of individuals from South Carolina, Georgia and North Carolina. Training and learning from the experiences of professionals in similar fields has advantages, stated Wadlington. “An advantage would be having the same energy and spirit to help individuals in the community succeed and feel comfortable in their career.” As the Program Coordinator of WIOA, the skills learned will have a direct impact on how the Fairfield County WIOA Office administers its programs. “Throughout 14 chapters, some areas that I will take and apply to my current position would be individual and group counseling skills, Program Management and handling issues in a diverse population.”
Wadlington has been with Fairfield County WIOA for 3 years.  WIOA provides assistance for eligible participants with training, resume, workshops and employment. The overall goal is to find sustainable employment in the workforce. Wadlington knows the impact her position has in Fairfield County, “I enjoy working with Fairfield County and bringing the community more aware of the accomplishments around the county with WIOA.”
